On October 16th, the Central Region Migrant program hosted a day at Dinosaur World in Cave City for migrant families living in central Kentucky. Families were able to participate in a park tour, fossil dig, visit the museum, and take a train ride.
In attendance was the Haney family from Adair County. Sandra Wilson, Adair County Migrant Advocate said, “The excitement on all these sweet faces when they encountered the many life-size dinosaurs throughout the walking trail was priceless. The dinosaur themed playground, dinosaur movie cave, museum and the train ride were all huge hits and made for a beautiful learning experience.”
The day was coordinated by Central Region Migrant Director, Sherry Stephens with a focus on engaging parent and child activities that could support preschool and kindergarten readiness for the children of migrant families in our area.
